The HUNTER Method came about due to a few things. 2017 was a hard year for us. We’d had a huge amount of stress in our lives for 3 years and in 2017 we realised that everything we’d worked so hard for, along with all our hopes and dreams, would be gone. We had 3 kids who were 1, 2 and 4 in the beginning of 2017, we’d just separated because we handle stress very differently and we’d got to a point where neither of us could be around each other… and then I found out I was pregnant with our 4th child. During this time, everything started getting dark and confusing, and I couldn’t figure out how to take my next steps.
Over the year, I was reminded to bring everything to God - my tears, pain, happiness, excitement, hope, hopelessness - everything. I’d known God from an early age, felt his indescribable peace at age 11/12 when I was heartbroken and desperate, screaming and shaking in my bed and then in an instant I felt complete peace, my body stopped still and I felt comforted like I’d never felt before. Around the same age I was reading in church but stumbled on my words, so my mind went back to re-read the part I thought I’d messed up but the words that came out my mouth had never stumbled - so what my eyes were looking at and my mind was reading were completely different words to the ones coming out my mouth that just flowed effortlessly. I remember at that point beginning to realise the impossible nature of God, and these moments were ones I kept being reminded of when I went through harder seasons through my life. As I began to know God in different ways, he began to show me things that just pierced into my darkness with glimmers of light that brought hope.
I wrote it all down in 2018 & 2019 as a course called The HUNTER Method. Hunter is my maiden name and I just love how through this name, a name that has experienced so much abuse and heartache for my dad and his siblings, God has used it to bring hope and healing.
Probably just like you reading this, we’ve experienced a lot of hurt and heartache as a family. But, laughter has always been a medicine to us. I know some people are in a season, or have lived an entire life, feeling too angry/bitter/miserable to laugh… so I just wanted to point out that I will often make a joke because that’s what helps me heal; I wanted to warn you so it doesn’t come as a shock!
Since writing The HUNTER Method in 2019, resources have been added to it. All these resources will be available for you to pick what works best for you/your family/school.
The HUNTER Method
The HUNTER Method is a course that shows you how to take off the judgements, opinions, criticisms and effects of situations that you’ve been carrying around with you.
It supports you to heal from wounds you might not even have realised were still hurting you.
It allows you to sit with emotions that might have made you feel uncomfortable or too difficult to accept, and recognise their value in your life.
It encourages you to be raw… to be open… to be honest with yourself.
It encourages you to look at your mind and body as a whole, to recognise the effect that food and drink have on YOUR body - remembering we are all beautifully unique.
We’re human. We’re supposed to learn, to grow and to change. The course helps you to stop running away from that and choose to run towards it!
