confidential support
(At the moment this service is funded by 2 local churches for students of Berrynarbor, Combe Martin & Ilfracombe Academy, I’m hoping to bring it to more schools as soon as I can.)
For any confidential (and anonymous if you wish) support - click the link below and leave an email address for me to reply to if you’d like a reply.
This service is for you to chat about your own mental health, ideas for your school, how to support someone else - anything on your mind.
You can send how you’re thinking/feeling without wanting a reply as a way of getting thoughts out of your head if you wish.

Covid-19
Below is a link to some thoughts on Covid-19.
* Heads up - my thoughts mainly come in rhyme so there’s usually a poem to go alongside info/videos!

Think health curriculum
Think HEALTH Curriculum is a collection of super short videos (approx. 2 mins) Monday-Friday on YouTube (I’ll link it below). It runs for an entire year and talks through all aspects of mental health in our life. There are 2 playlists - 0-17yrs and 18+, but the ages are just guides, you can try both and see which you prefer then follow that one. As of September 2021 I hope to have resources available for you to dive further into each topic if you wish. Use a diary/journal to write down your thoughts after watching the videos if you can - it can be a HUGE boost for your mental health just writing it all down.

The BBC have put together a few video clips for you to hear stories about other people’s experiences with mental illnesses. You can find them in the link below:
SPECIAL BOOKS BY SPECIAL KIDS (SBSK)
SBSK exists to ‘normalise the diversity of the human condition’. An ex-teacher, Chris Ulmer, travels all over (mainly the USA) interviewing kids, teens and adults on their condition. His interviews include both physical and mental illnesses and they’re definitely worth watching either to get a feel of what life is like for someone else, or to hear about someone with similar struggles to what you might be experiencing.
UK SAFER INTERNET CENTRE
The internet can be a cause of poor mental health. Whether it’s reading comments under a controversial post, or one you disagree with - sometimes, it’s best to not look at all.
It is right to stand up for your beliefs and for what is right, but bear in mind that debating with someone on social media will drain your energy and can often lead to attacking behaviour (in either the other person, yourself, or both).
Set time limits for how long you will be on social media (and your phone in general. Trust me - your mind will thank you for it.
